   Yes you can grow palm trees in Atlanta, though most people don't know it!  There are 3 varieties that are hearty, windmill, sabal and pindo.  My house is located 17.6 miles due east of the center of Atlanta.  I live on 52 acres my friends dubbed "LT World".  Indeed that is what I call my 2,600 foot airfield. Get MicroSoft Flight simulator and for kicks, look it up!  They don't have the scenery correct in the program though.

The 52 acres for LT World are highlighted.  You can see my house at the upper right corner and the hangar is to the left of the house.  The GreenHouse slab has been poured since this photo and will be built between the hangar and the house at the airfield level. The lower Left corner is exactly 17.0 miles Due east of the center (not outside) of Atlanta and my house is 17.6 miles due east!

A Half Mile of Runway Looks Like a Golf Course!

Velocity XLRG at 230 mph makes Freeport Grand Bahamas only Two and a Half hours and Orlando, FL is Less than a Two Hour Flight From Atlanta. Leave Atlanta at 7:00 am be in the Bahamas at 9:30! Beats the Heck out of commercial!
